The 4 trends that have excelled in the IHHS 2019
This year at the International Haute Horlogerie Show in Geneva (IHHS 2019), many of the key trends that have been around for years but have not been fully adopted until now have been presented.
So, to help you decide which watch you should buy next, here is our list of the biggest trends for this year.
- Salmon: this is certainly a surprise, but the smoked salmon spheres are everywhere in Geneva. This is because the Living Coralhas been chosen “color of the year” by Pantone, what means that coral or salmon tones will take a center stage not only in fashion, but in decor and in the world of watchmaking.
- All blue: it’s been a while since the trend of the blue clock started to gain strength, but 2019 will be it’s year. If in 2018, this trend has already been strong, especially in men’s watchmaking, this year it arrives with even more strength also falling on female wrists. This color is perfect for formal looks and occasions.
- Small watches: the small watches were the great news of IHHS 2019, which is good news for fans of fashion watches and retro inspiration, but it is bad news for those with huge wrists like mine.
- Back to the basics: in recent years many watchmaking brands have tried to cope with the attack of smartwatches and our dependence on smartphones. But by 2019, the focus has changed and many of these brands have returned to their roots, so as a matter of fact, classic watches are the real deal this season.
